Batumi Medical Academy has been operating since 1992 and implements multidisciplinary educational programs. The Academy is focused on training qualified, competitive, professional personnel in the healthcare sector. During its existence, the school has graduated thousands of young specialists who are employed by profession in the leading medical and pharmaceutical institutions of the region, operating in Georgia and abroad. The Academy has an infrastructure-material-technical base that meets modern requirements, its own dental clinic, library, cabinet laboratories, and has close ties with employers. The Academy has leading professional teachers in the region. Since 2016, it has been actively participating in the International Tourism and Medical Equipment Exhibition and conferences held under its auspices.

Batumi Medical Academy is constantly in search of innovations and actively participates in various events. For supporting the reform of vocational education in the process of introducing modular vocational education programs. In 2015, the Medical Academy was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from the National Center for Education Quality Development.

The Academy is an active member of the Association of Private Colleges of Georgia. In 2016, the institution received the highest organizational assessment and was awarded five stars.

In 2024, Batumi Medical Academy received a grant under the US Embassy's Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Support Subprogram, "Promoting Employment and Self-Employment Opportunities for Vocational Students by Implementing a Vocational Counseling and Career Development System in the Adjara Region."
